Birthday Party...

Hello all!

I hope you are all enjoying this mini heatwave we are experiencing at the moment!  I am staying at my parents in East Sussex with the children, as they broke up for the summer holidays last week.  We went to Whitstable today for a hot and sticky afternoon, with fish and chips and a paddle in the sea.

As I said in my previous post, we held a craft and tea party for my daughter and a few of her friends on Saturday.  The children had a lovely time, the sun shone and the grown ups had Pimms so all was good!!  I took so many photo's that it's been a bit tricky to narrow them down for the blog - I will do another post this week to show you the craft activity we did.
So, back to these pictures - apologies in advance if pink and frou frou is not your thing, but I had a vision in my head, and I ran with it!  (I blame Pinterest!)  So out came the cake stands and the fairy lights, and I went to Hobbycraft to pick up some decorations.  Needless to say, I think I got much more pleasure out of the final result than my daughter, but I think it does us good every now and then to indulge our fancies!  The beautiful peonies and roses were from Morrisons, who I think sell fab flowers very cheaply, I also bought their plain value cupcakes and iced them myself to match the huge madeira cake I made.

I have blog posts coming out of my ears, so I shall be popping back tomorrow evening with some pictures, in the meantime have a lovely Wednesday!

p.s. It's so funny that you're now in East Sussex for the hols .- my in-laws lived there until earlier this year when they moved up to live near us, but until then, that was my regular school holiday routine too!

  3. So amazing - the children must have thought they were in wonderland. Well done you, this must have been a lot of work - and very satisfying that it paid off so beautifully!
