Pickings from the garden...

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a fab week!

These balmy summer evening are so perfect for having a potter around in the garden, and I find it so therapeutic to pull a few weeds up and rearrange some pots after a busy day at work.  I loved my little garden so much at the old house, that I thought it was going to be one of the things I missed the most when moving here.  Especially as the garden here was completely unloved - tatty, parched, overgrown (and with a broken fish tank in the corner for some reason!).  The first time I stepped out onto the broken concrete, I was filled with fear at the task ahead of me.
However, after bringing many of my beloved hydrangeas and box balls from the old garden, and with the help of an amazing landscape gardener, it has been turned into an oasis of calm, and I'm so close to sharing my garden makeover with you.  The landscaper is coming back next week to put a shingle path around the summerhouse, and then it is very nearly finished.
So, these are a few of my first pickings from my new garden.  The Limelight hydrangea was one that I brought from the old garden, where it never seemed to thrive - it has doubled in size since I planted it here.  One of the roses was a bargain £2.99 QD purchase, the other was a gift from a friend, and the blue hydrangea was another one from the old garden.  I think that being able to pick blooms from your own garden is one of life's most lovely, simple pleasures.
